I was just about to post a few pics and link back to a post...that i just realize i never posted. So i'll just tie the two together here. Back in November '09 - my great grandmother turned 90 years young! That's what her cake said too. My great grandma holds our family together - and I can't stand to think about what will happen once she's no longer with us. I was blessed that she was able to make it to our wedding last May. We had Christmas at her house this year too. She's an amazing woman who's seen lots of changes in this world. We gave her a surprise party at the Holiday Inn in College Station - she had no idea. She thought she was just going to dinner with her oldest daughter. See the look on her face? :)
That's her only living brother playing the guitar. She loves to hear him play.
And look how pretty she is. That bottom right framed photo is her parents. And then there she is with all of her children, including my grandmother.
No one really knew what to get her for her birthday. She did get a leopard print snuggie! She also got a quilt, and candles, and things of that nature. But you can never go wrong with photos of grandchildren. She has them all over the house. She also has one from everyone's wedding. In fact, we gave her one from ours for Christmas! My gift to her and everyone else were the photos - I've since given all of her children a copy and printed a few of her and her brother out for her to keep also. But my sister Sarah wanted to give her an updated photo of her and her kids since she didnt have one. And that's where the blog post I had planned on starting comes in.
Sarah stopped by my house, fairly last minute - and we managed to snap a few frames so she could print an 8 x 10 for Mammaw Ray's birthday. The kiddos surely didnt feel like participating that day, but i started playing some music on my iphone speaker and im pretty sure their mother promised toys. And so, we captured these in the backyard :
micah is such a ham! he's been around a camera all his life and knows how to pose! well, he'll take good pics when he becomes a country music singer!
