Before & After #7 - Baby Sophia

Last week I blogged Sophia's newborn session, and mentioned the gorgeous house that was to be our backdrop that day. I'm pretty sure I could live in just the living room. The couch was the perfect shade of red to match the striped ottoman that I wanted to take home and use as a prop for every session I had booked in the future. As a photographer, you always want to strive to get the best image that you can - straight out of the camera. This saves you precious time and frustration at the computer later. However, when shooting newborns, I strive to get the exposure and general composition correct, and correct backgrounds as needed in photoshop. Sometimes it's a blanket where you've shot at just the right angle to catch the edge of it, sometimes it's a couch. Does it look like a couch in the background to you?

Canon 5D, 50 mm f/1.4 @ f/2.2, 1/125 sec, ISO 800, Edited in Photoshop CS3
