HeartsApart.org is a 501(c)3 non profit organization dedicated to taking photos of our Military families facing deployment and providing them with a waterproof bi-folding card that fits in their uniform pocket at no cost. HeartsApart.org believes that our military personnel deserve and need the memory of their families to carry them through the difficult times that lie ahead.
The goal of HeartsApart.org is simple. As long as servicemen and women are in harm's way and separated from their families, we will be taking pictures. There is no end to the project - just a commitment to continue to serve our Armed Forces while they continue to serve us.
Join the cause!
The real work begins as we call on the community to support our efforts. HeartsApart.org asks that photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, wardrobe stylists and most importantly, local financial donors and sponsors, join the fight. HeartsApart.org is also looking for local and national clothing merchants to help the cause. To be a part of their mission, contact Volunteer@HeartsApart.org.
Most importantly, they invite the families of our soon to be deployed Armed Forces to schedule their family portrait. To schedule a portrait, contact Portraits@HeartsApart.org.
I joined HeartsApart.org in honor of my cousin Jeremy Ray. I hadn't had my first DSLR camera very long before he deployed, and I cherish the few family photos I took in the years prior at the holidays, no matter the quality of them. They cannot be replaced, ever.
